A Mac app that turns the keyboard into calm, colorful play for toddlers while keeping the rest of the computer out of reach.
Their favorite toy is your keyboard — the clicky, glowing one attached to your work laptop. Hey Addie ends the tug-of-war: open it, hand over the Mac, and every key becomes something delightful.
Letters bounce hand-drawn fruit friends across a pastel play stage, arrow keys make them hop, and the space bar bursts with joy. Every press plays a gentle note from a scale with no wrong ones.
Hey Addie was built by a parent for a baby named Addie, who just wanted to work like her daddy.
- Kiosk-safe
- Fullscreen play keeps the Dock, files, and other apps out of reach, and the app pulls itself back if an accidental key smash switches away. Exiting takes two clean, separate taps of ESC.
- Calm by design
- Slow-moving colors, capped motion, and no strobing. Sensory play, not sensory overload.
- Personalized
- Greets a child by name, helps them discover each letter, and celebrates when they finish spelling it. Birthdays get a little party, too.
