Fintech
Honest Dollar
A retirement savings app for people without an employer plan. Goldman Sachs acquired it in 2016, and it now lives on as Marcus Invest.
About
We are builders and technology enthusiasts. We design, develop, and operate digital products that are simple to use and built to stand on their own.
Overview
The homepage is the short version. This is the work underneath it, and why the company looks the way it does now.
Past products we worked on were built for a specific person. GT Tech is the smaller bet. We start fewer products, keep them under their own names, and stay with them after they ship.
Past work
Our past experiences have followed us to GT Tech, and how we design and operate our products today.
Fintech

Social
An Austin app for real conversations, not quick likes. It raised a $12.7 million seed round, and Violet AI acquired it in 2023.
Insurtech
Life-insurance technology used by carriers including USAA and Transamerica. In 2025 it raised a $120 million Series D and was named Best InsurTech Solution for Life Insurance.
Company Leadership
Eric Albee is an Austin-based founder and engineering leader with more than a decade of experience shipping consumer products across fintech, insurtech, and social platforms. As co-founder and VP of Engineering at ibble, he took the app from zero to one and grew it to 1.3 million users, raising $12M in venture funding and partnering with major brands and creators along the way. He was also an early engineer at Honest Dollar (acquired by Goldman Sachs), a startup built to provide access to retirement accounts for freelancers and small/medium businesses. Later, he helped develop and launch digital life insurance products at Bestow, helping to provide income security for tens of thousands of individuals and their families.
Nowadays, Eric splits his professional time between GT Tech and EricCorp Dev, his software and AI advisory consultancy. Having grown up in Utah, he enjoys spending his free time outdoors and traveling with his wife and one-year-old daughter, who was the driving inspiration behind Hey Addie and First Foods.
